'We stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work and relate to one another.  In its scale, scope and complexity, the transformation will be unlike anything humankind has experienced before.' 1
Our lives have changed dramatically - autonomous cars are no longer only for the Jetsons, drones are now used in warfare or to deliver parcels or pizzas, Siri and Alexa help us with everyday tasks, software translates or invests for you - these are not sci-fi ideas but today's realities.
However, there's also a lot of hype about the workplace of the future - will swathes of jobs be lost as robots march forward relentlessly and change our employment landscape forever?
Join us for a perspective from the frontline - Greg Miller, co-founder and executive director of Faethm, will share what governments in Australia and around the world are doing to identify risk and impact on jobs and reskilling pathways to future jobs.  Greg will also discuss:
  • Assessing and predicting the impact of emerging technologies on the workplace
  • Which emerging technologies will have the biggest impact on the workforce
  • What practical steps are needed to turn life-long learning into reality
  • How to prepare yourself and your workforce for the future
Frances Anderson, Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, will then lead a Q&A on what this means for the Victorian Public Sector.
