VGSO Lawyer in Comedy Debate!
Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, Police Branch, Shaun Le Grand will be debating the merits of large v small firms in the Law Institute of Victoria's annual comedy debate on 16 April.Moderated by Justice Betty King of the Supreme Court of Victoria, Shaun will be extolling the virtues of government legal service. His fellow debaters include representatives from private law firms and the Victorian Bar. The debate will be held at The Athenaeum Theatre and $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the Asylum Seekers Resource Centre. For further details, click here. -

Case Summary - Roads Corporation v Pearse
In a recent decision, Bell J of the Supreme Court of Victoria held that, in defending an adverse possession claim, the Roads Corporation was entitled to rely on the immunity of the Crown specified in s 7 of the Limitations of Actions Act 1958 (Vic). -
