Current practice

Alice's practice comprises advisory and litigation work in constitutional law and administrative decision-making.  She also advises government clients on complex questions of statutory interpretation, privacy, executive privilege and regulatory matters. 

Alice has conducted litigation on behalf of government clients in a diverse range of litigious matters, across the High Court, state courts and administrative tribunals.  This has included acting for the Attorney-General in constitutional intervention matters in the High Court and in judicial review proceedings in the Supreme Court. 


Prior to joining the VGSO, Alice worked at a major international corporate law firm in litigation and dispute resolution, representing large corporate clients and statutory authorities.  Alice's previous experience includes large scale and complex regulatory matters, financial services litigation, and complex insolvency litigation and advice.  Alice also worked as the Associate to the Honourable Justice Jennifer Davies in the Federal Court of Australia, assisting in trials and appeal hearings matters ranging from general administrative law, migration and taxation to corporations and intellectual property.

Alice completed her Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours at the University of Adelaide and received a number of awards, including the Law Society of South Australia Centenary Prize for achieving the highest average mark across all subjects.
