Senior Solicitor

Current practice

Darcy has a broad litigation and dispute resolution practice encompassing personal injury litigation (negligence and breach of statutory duty), product liability and applications under the Serious Offenders Act 2018.  A significant part of Darcy's current practice involves managing a number of litigated and un-litigated personal injury claims concerning historical institutional abuse.

Darcy's clients include various government departments and statutory agencies.

Prior to joining the VGSO in 2020, Darcy worked in London (UK) for an international law firm in the Product Liability and Life Sciences Team.  Darcy managed a number of personal injury claims through a bespoke dispute resolution process following a high profile product recall and, as part of a team, managed medical device litigation throughout the EU.

Darcy is experienced acting for public sector clients.  In London, Darcy worked in-house at the UK energy regulator advising on their participation in a public inquiry and on reforms to the regulation of battery storage.  Prior to moving to the UK, Darcy worked for a number of years in personal injury litigation acting for government departments and statutory agencies and had conduct of matters in the Magistrates' Court, County Court and Supreme Court of Victoria.

During his time in the UK, Darcy completed a Master of Laws at the London School of Economics and Political Science, specialising in public law.
