Current practice

Laura works closely with Corrections Victoria, with her practice focusing on personal injury, negligence, judicial review, advocacy and general litigation.  She also acts for the Attorney-General in Crimes (Mental Impairment) matters.

Laura has broad civil litigation and advocacy experience, and has conducted proceedings across a range of jurisdictions including the Supreme, County & Magistrates' Court, the Coroners Court and the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.


Laura joined the VGSO as a Solicitor in mid-2018.  Prior to joining the VGSO, Laura worked as a lawyer at Corrs Chambers Westgarth in their commercial litigation team. 

Laura has provided advice and representation to government clients, statutory authorities, regulators, commercial enterprises, and private clients.  Her experience includes:

personal injury & negligence;

crimes (mental impairment);

judicial review;

freedom of information;

consumer protection & misleading or deceptive conduct;

coronial investigations; 

royal commissions; and

contractual disputes.

Laura has also spent time seconded to WorkSafe Victoria as part of their Corporate Legal Services Team, and to Justice Connect in their Public Interest Law team.  Prior to her position at Corrs, Laura was a research assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Monash University.
