Current practice

Shashi is a well-rounded and experienced litigation and dispute resolution lawyer. 

She represents public sector clients including departments and statutory agencies in personal injury claims (litigated and non-litigated, negligence and breach of statutory duty), crimes (mental impairment) reviews, coronial inquests and inquiries.

Experience

Since her admission in 2012, Shashi has gained wide-ranging experience in all Victorian jurisdictions including the Supreme, County and Magistrates Court, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.  She has also practiced in the Federal Court of Australia, and other jurisdictions including in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. 

Prior to joining the VGSO, Shashi advised insurers and corporate clients in the defence of professional indemnity, medical negligence and public liability (both personal injury and property damage) claims from issue to verdict. 

Shashi has developed her expertise through working in legal practice and in-house at reputable national and global insurance companies.  She is always accessible and focuses on the client's needs, providing technical advice with a commercial approach.
