VCAT Appoints Senior VGSO Lawyers
Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor Jonathan Smithers has been appointed a senior member and General Counsel Dr Rebecca French a member of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Dr French commences on 30 November 2011 and Mr Smithers on 23 January. -

VGSO lawyers to speak at Leo Cussen FOI Conference
Managing Principal Solicitor Jo Kummrow and Senior Solicitors Elsie Loh and Daniel Perkins will be speaking at the FOI Conference to be held at Leo Cussen Centre for Law on 2 December. The conference will concentrate on FOI requests made under the Victorian Freedom of Information Act 1982, as well as examining recent developments in FOI, access to health records, what constitutes a valid FOI request, statutory exemptions and available appeal avenues in Victoria. The VGSO team will facilitate a workshop on processing an FOI request. -
