Civil litigation and dispute resolution (including personal injury), Commercial litigation, Royal commissions and inquiries, Coronial inquests and investigations, Administrative decision making and review

In his role as Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, Will leads the Inquiries, Prosecutions and Administrative Law division.

He leads a team of lawyers responsible for providing legal services to the Victorian Government and Public Sector on matters including:

  • establishing, running and responding to Royal Commissions and Public Inquiries
  • investigations, integrity and disciplinary matters
  • licensing and occupational regulation
  • prosecutions and enforcement
  • administrative action and decision making
  • judicial review and VCAT proceedings
  • disputes, mediation and interlocutory processes
  • regulation of municipal Councils
  • advice on internal legal systems and legal process management.

Will’s team solve all manner of legal problems, including complex and high-risk legal issues that involve:

  • urgent or emergency timeframes
  • interagency issues
  • novel legal issues and intersecting areas of law
  • litigation, public safety and other risks
  • competing public interests.

Will is an accomplished adviser, litigator and public inquiries lawyer. He has deep Government experience, and regularly participates in inter-departmental committees and working groups. He provides practical solutions to complex legal problems for public sector clients.
